TripleOKlaw LLP Quarterly Client Engagement Cocktail March 21st 2019
On the 21st of March, we hosted our Client Engagement Cocktail, held every quarter to interract and network with our clients over great food and drinks.
The guest of honour for the night was Mr Robert Ondhowe from the United Nations Environmental Program. A man very passionate about climate change and the environment, he presented a very promising but demanding future of keeping up with the challenges and opportunities that are coming up in the environmental law sector. Starting from the legal space he applauded TripleOKlaw for pioneering change in the sustainability sector through the announcement of a Climate Change and Sustainability practice area.
This was the perfect introduction to Mr Stephen Mallowah”s big announcement for the night. Inspired by the Mr Ondhowe, the two met at high level roundtable on Climate Law and Governance at kings college, London. The outcome of which was an insight on how businesses in developing countries can participate in buidling green economies and the transition to low carbon economies.
“It’s about the weather but not about the weather. Global warming and climate change are not the same things. 30 years ago, climate change conversations were only had by weather men. Now we have lawyers and bankers in one room discussing the impact.”- Robert Ondhowe
In the coming weeks, we will be letting you know more about the Climate Change and Sustainability Practice Area and why you too, need to join the conversation.
