With more than 15 years post-university experience, Elias has represented clients in a wide range of commercial and public interest litigation. He has built immense expertise in Environmental and Natural Resources jurisprudence, as well as in Energy and renewable resources generally, areas where he now chiefly specializes.
Elias graduated from the University of Nairobi in 1999 with a Second Class (Upper Division) Honours Bachelor of Laws (LL B) Degree. He later successfully undertook his pupilage with the firm of Kalya & Company Advocates in Eldoret between September, 1999 up to his admission to the Bar on 12th April, 2001. Thereafter he was employed as an associate in the Mombasa law firm of Messrs Tutui, Adogo & Associates where he was engaged in active Litigation with a bias towards Maritime and International Law, building upon the knowledge he had acquired while studying the Law of the Sea course during his undergraduate days.
Elias joined TRIPLEOKLAW as an Associate in March 2003 and was admitted into Partnership in August, 2006. Following his passion, he subsequently obtained a Master of Laws (LL. M) Degree in Environmental & Natural Resources Law at the University of Nairobi. He still maintains a keen interest in the developments in Maritime and International law in general. He is also an avid athlete and holds a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. It is no surprise, therefore, that he has also fitted in seamlessly in Sports & Entertainment Law and has handled a number of important cases before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Elias is currently the Partner in charge of Training & Continuous Legal Education as well as the firm’s pro bono scheme which oversees the provision of free legal services to needy members of society, one of the firm’s key corporate-social responsibilities.
