Jinaro Kibet is the Senior Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Law team. His attention to detail and quest for perfection leads to consistent client satisfaction in all his transactions.
For over 30 years, Jinaro has handled matters involving securities advisory, corporate restructuring, banking and insurance law advisory for local and international corporates, private equity and investment advisory, public-private partnerships and other financial services to a wide range of clients in the private and public sector.
Due to his significant advisory experience and cutting-edge solutions to the legal needs of diverse clientele, Jinaro has been internationally recognized for his work by Legal500 (www.legal500.com), Chambers Global (www.chambersandpartners.com) and Best Lawyers (www.bestlawyers.com). Jinaro has made contributions to scholarly publications in the Kenyan legal sphere and internationally. He has contributed to the development of the legal profession through scholarly writings and presentations. He is also an active Contributor to the World Bank’s ‘Doing Business’ project.
He has been instrumental in assisting sports organizations in and outside Kenya in drafting and amending their governance instruments, including Athletics Kenya, Lawn Tennis Kenya, and the Confederation of African Athletics and other Athletics Federations in Africa. He is currently an elected Vice President of Athletics Kenya having been so elected in 2014. In 2020, he was appointed as a Member of the Governance Commission. He is also a Member of the National Review Panel of World Athletics and the World Athletics Human Rights Working Group.
In August 2022, Jinaro celebrated reaching the pinnacle of his career when he was conferred upon the rank of Senior Counsel by the President of the Republic of Kenya. The highest rank for a lawyer in Kenya, Senior Counsel is a highly respected recognition for experienced advocates who make a difference in the practice.
